Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University – India

Prof. Abdul Razak Jalaludeen has over 35 years of experience in poultry science and higher education. He has held several academic and leadership positions at Kerala Agricultural University and Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, including Dean and Director of Academics and Research.

He established India's first Faculty of Poultry Science and has made significant contributions to the characterisation and conservation of indigenous Kuttanad ducks, officially registered as a breed by the ICAR Breed Registration Committee in 2025. He has also developed initiatives to promote extensive duck farming in collaboration with rural development institutions.

Throughout his career, he has published extensively, supervised more than 45 postgraduate and doctoral students, and authored three books and four book chapters. He co-edited the Springer Nature book Duck Production and Management Strategies (2022).

Taiwan Livestock Research Institute – Taiwan

Dr Jeng-Fang Huang has been Director General of the Taiwan Livestock Research Institute since 2017 and has more than 20 years of experience in waterfowl research. His work focuses on duck breeding, precision nutrition and flock management.

He has pioneered the development of automated egg collection systems and water-pad housing to address labour constraints and climate challenges while improving egg quality. He also promotes the integration of artificial intelligence, genomics and phenotypic data into digital breeding programmes.

He chaired the APF WPSA Waterfowl Working Group from 2011 to 2017 and the Organizing Committee of the 6th World Waterfowl Conference in 2017. He served as President of the Taiwan WPSA Branch from 2022 to 2025 and was elected APF WPSA Senior Vice-President in 2024.
